Customs Rules

Import regulations::

Free import by passengers older than 17 years only:
1. 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 400 grams of tobacco.
2. 1/2 liter of Eau de Cologne and 0.15 liter of perfume in opened bottles.
3. 1 liter of alcoholic beverages per person.

Prohibited: Narcotics, firearms and ammunition, gold.

Export regulations::

Free export of an unlimited amount of tobacco products.
Prohibited: firearms, gold, jewelry.

Pets::

Cats and dogs must be accompanied by a veterinarian rabies inoculation certificate, issued at point of origin. Psittacine birds: health certificate, certificate of origin and statement of veterinary surgeon that bird is free from psittacosis.
Prohibited: falcons, except when Presidential authority has been given, with an Algerian government apostille.

Baggage Clearance regulations::

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Algeria. Baggage cannot be through checked onto domestic flights.



Airport Embarkation Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.



Currency rules

Currency Import regulations:

Foreign currencies: unlimited, to be changed at the nearest bank.

Currency Export regulations:

Foreign currencies: up to the amount imported and declared. It is necessary to submit the currency declaration issued on arrival. Declaration of exchange to be presented upon departure.
