Customs Rules

Import regulations::

Free import by non-residents older than 15 years (residents may import half the duty free quantities). If more is imported the whole quantity is dutiable:
1. 200 cigarettes or 25 cigars or 50 cigarillo's or 250 grams smoking tobacco;
2. 1 liter of distilled beverages;
3. perfume: no restrictions;
4. (gift) articles for personal use: up to a value of AWG 400.-.

Arms and Ammunition regulations::

An import permit is required, issued by "Belastingdienst Douane, Centrale Dienst voor In- en Uitvoer (CDIU)" in The Netherlands: tel. 0031-88-1512122.

Wild Fauna and Flora::

The import of certain endangered species of plant, live animals and their products is prohibited or restricted under CITES.
For further details please refer to CITES: www.cites.org.

Additional Information on regulations::

To import plants an import permit issued by "Directie Landbouw, Veeteelt en Visserij" is required.

Export regulations::

Free export of any quantity of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages.

Crew members customs regulations::

1. 100 cigarettes or 13 cigars or 150 grams tobacco;
2. 1 liter wine and 1,5 liters beer.

Pets::

Cats, dogs, parrots and parakeets must be accompanied by a Veterinarian Good Health Certificate issued at point of origin not earlier than 2 weeks prior to arrival.
Dogs and cats need a Rabies Inoculation Certificate. The rabies vaccination should be given at least 30 days prior to arrival, but no longer than 1 year.
Dogs and cats younger than 4 months, are exempted of the rabies vaccination if age and veterinarian statement is inserted on the Veterinarian Good Health Certificate that the pet is too young to be vaccinated.
Prohibited (also in transit):
1. dogs, cats and parrots from South America;
2. monkeys from South America and the Dominican Rep.

Baggage Clearance regulations::

Baggage is cleared at the airport of Aruba, if it is labeled accordingly.

Baggage of transfer passengers, including connections with flights to the USA, will be security screened airside and will not be required to clear customs and re-checked in at Aruba.



Airport Embarkation Tax

Transfer Tax: USD 3.- is levied on passengers in transit.
Place of payment: at check-in for connecting flight.
Exempt: children under 2 years.

Local currency (Aruban Florin-AWG) and foreign currencies: no restrictions. However, amounts exceeding AWG 20,000.- (USD 11,000.- or equivalent) must be declared.
